Oshiomhole, a first class scam – Barr. Obade
By Eben Enasco Kingsley (Benin City)
The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Ekpoma Branch, has described the sudden scrapping of Customary Court of Appeal by the state governor, Adams Oshiomhole as anti- people.
The secretary to the association (Ekpoma branch) ,Barr. Prince Alex I. Obade, who spoke with our correspondent, disclosed that the decision was poorly managed, adding that, there was no input from the NBA before such decision was carried out through Edo State House of Assembly.
According to him, ” My take is that it’s totally wrong because Customary Law is an integral part of Nigeria Legal system, that allows for Customary arbitration, if matters of Custom is decided one way or the other, I believe the unsatisfied party has right of appeal, and that is the role of. C C A.
This right is constitutional, and can not be impeached. “I want to believe there was no input from the association. It will certainly generate litigation, to challenge the government, possible reversal of the decision” Barr. Obade described the decision as rash and not people friendly, adding that “Edo state Government can not get far with this volatile decision as the state enjoys ambiance of ancient culture, Custom and tradition.
The disappointed NBA Secretary assured that he is ready to take the government to court over what he described as “ignoble position”.
Barr. Obade further stressed that, before long, he may head for Court to question the propriety of such ignoble position by Edo state government. Scoring the governor in his first tenure as above average.
“Oshiomhole is a first class scam. First tenure, to be fair to him, his performance rating by me, if am so empowered will be 60 percent pass mark. (This was when Pastor Ize-Iyamu was still guiding
Oshiomhole as ACN Vice Chairman and defacto leader of the party).
Second tenure, he has eight ‘carry overs’ out of ten. He became a pathological liar of international repute. We can never have the kind of Ambrose Alli again, so selfless, humble and committed to adding Value to life of the down trodden” he reiterated.
