Osun APC counters Adeleke over security drone dispute, urges public to ignore allegations against Oyetola

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the public to disregard recent allegations made by Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding missing security drones reportedly procured during the administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, describing the claims as misleading and politically motivated.

In a statement issued by the party, the APC challenged Governor Adeleke to provide verifiable evidence to support his assertion that security surveillance drones acquired under the previous administration were unaccounted for, insisting that the equipment in question was duly procured and handled according to established procedures.

The party maintained that the claims being circulated by the state government were an attempt to cast doubt on the records of the former administration, urging residents of Osun State to disregard what it described as “unsubstantiated allegations.”

Governor Adeleke, who currently leads the Ademola Adeleke administration, had raised concerns over the status of certain security assets inherited from the previous government, including drones reportedly purchased for surveillance and security operations.

However, the APC countered the claims, arguing that the procurement process under former governor Adegboyega Oyetola was transparent and properly documented, and that all assets were accounted for at the end of his tenure.

The dispute adds to ongoing political tensions between the ruling party in the state and the opposition, particularly over issues relating to governance records, security expenditure, and asset management.

As of the time of filing this report, the Osun State Government had not issued an additional response to the APC’s latest statement.
