Otitoju reveals what America may do if Nigeria uses Tucano jets outside North East
Investigative journalist Babajide Otitoju has shared some of the consequences that may result from using Tucano jets outside the North East. Speaking on TVC News, Babajide recalled that the military aircraft were sold to Nigeria but restricted to fighting terrorism in the North East.
Addressing the topic, Babajide said, “The US government restricted the use of the Tucano jets to the North East, where terrorism was localized at the time.” They did so to protect the lives of civilians in accordance with the Leahy Lae. However, the Americans will know if the Tucano jets are used outside the Northeast. They will know even if they are not here.
He continued, “You can not try using it somewhere else. Our people do not want to take such risks. If they find out about such an incident, they will stop supplying you with spare parts. The training will also stop, and you will eventually have an aircraft that is useless to you if you can not replace its parts. How come we are making so much progress in the North East if the Tucano jets are not working? When was the last time that Boko Haram attacked an army base like they used to? They even used to set the bases ablaze.
