Over 1,000 PDP loyalists in Jigawa decamp to APC
About 1, 266 members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP have decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Jigawa State.
Alhaji Aminu Sani, the State APC chairman, received the decampees on Sunday in Maigatari Local Government Area.
This comes weeks after he was elected as the new State’s Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
It was gathered that all the state’s executive members from ward to state Congress emerged through consensus, in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Receiving the decampees in Maigatari, the party chairman said the development had clearly indicated that the party had fulfilled its promises.
Represented by the party youth leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Ya’u, he said the decampees would be given equal rights as every member of the party.
In his speech, the council chairman, Uzairu Nadabo said the defection was part of the activities to mark his 100 days in office as the Local Government Chairman.
