PFIPC scandal deepens as Court issues arrest warrant for Adeniyi Adeyemi
The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-styled Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), described by the prosecution as a non-existent government body.
Justice Mohammed Umar ordered Adeyemi’s arrest after granting an oral application filed by the prosecution counsel, Mr. Wisdom Madaki, following the defendant’s failure to appear in court for his arraignment.
Adeyemi is facing an eight-count criminal charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on allegations of forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
The case, which was listed as number 12 on the court’s cause list, was scheduled for the defendant to take his plea. Although his counsel, Mr. Genesis Francis, announced his appearance before the court, Adeyemi himself was absent.
Responding to the development, the prosecution informed the court that the defendant had repeatedly failed to honour court proceedings despite being aware of the charges against him. The prosecution subsequently urged the court to issue a bench warrant to compel his appearance.

Justice Umar granted the request and ordered law enforcement authorities to arrest Adeyemi and produce him before the court to answer the charges.
The latest order follows Adeyemi’s earlier failure to appear before the court on Tuesday for his scheduled arraignment over allegations of certificate forgery. His repeated absence from court proceedings prompted the prosecution to seek stronger judicial measures to ensure he is brought before the court.
According to the charge, the defendant is accused of offences relating to forgery, fraudulent misrepresentation, and impersonation, allegedly carried out while presenting himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), an organisation the prosecution contends has no legal existence as a government agency.
