Plateau LGA football association chairmen laments expulsion of Giwa FC from league
By Kingsley Chukwuka, Jos
Local Government Football Association chairmen in Plateau state yesterday expressed concern over moves by some group of persons to undermine the growth of football in the state.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Jos and jointly signed by Isa Musa , chairman Mangu LGA and Emmauel Musa, from Kanke LGA reads that the Association regretted FC Giwa ,s expulsion from the Nigerian Premier League and they put the blame on the doorstep of the Plateau Football Association PFA for nor doing enough to protect the Jos Elephants during the ill fated match between Giwa FC and Enugu FC which eventually led to their banishment to Ilorin by the League Management Company LMC “.
“The group observed that as custodian of football in the state , the PFA failed to provide the necessary protection to Giwa FC during their travails with the LMC and NFF like what is obtainable in other states.
” It is common knowledge within the football fraternity on the Plateau , that some cabal has never hidden their disdain for Giwa FC because they have never shown concern over their predicament right from inception and the same group is always in support of the conspiracy against the Jos elephants “.
” Unfolding events have also confirmed the insinuation amongst soccer fans in Plateau state that enemies of the club within and outside the state will conspire and take advantage of the lingering leadership tussle in the NFF between Ambassador Chris Giwa and Amaju Pinnick to victimise Giwa FC in the 2015 /2016 NPFL league season “.
The statement also reads that ” the current situation of the two Plateau teams in the premier league is worrisome and it is clear the much needed synergy between the PFA and the two teams is totally lacking.
” The time has come for soccer loving Plateau people to be smart or very soon will discover that we don’t have a team playing in the premier league becuse of the selfish interest of some group of cabal who have constituted themselves as enemies of Plateau Football.
