Police busts 3-in-one gang, recovers underwear, arms, drugs
A two members of a criminal gang ended up in the dragnet of the officers of the Ekiti Police Command who raided a den at Atikankan, in Ado Ekiti on Friday.
Olusesan Segun and Kareem Gbenga were caught with weapons, ammunition, about three dozen of women underwear, among others, said police spokesperson DSP Abutu Sunday.
The suspects also confessed to being members of a cult.
“Following credible intelligence received, detectives from the Command swooped on a criminal hideout at Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti on 13/07/2022 and arrested one Olusesan Segun a.k.a ALWAYS and Kareem Gbenga while others took to their heels,” the statement reads.
“Items recovered from the suspects include one cut to size locally made single barrel gun, one locally made pistol, 51 live cartridges, 32 suspected stolen underwear, 20 suspected stolen aluminum window frames, 8 suspected handsets, some wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and some wraps of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
He said the suspects confessed that they are into armed robbery alongside those who escaped.
:They further disclosed that they hawk illicit drugs and that they are members of the supreme Eiye confraternity.”
