Policeman shot dead in Rivers by unidentified gunmen
Unidentified gunmen have shot a policeman dead at the popular Marine Base Junction in the old Port Harcourt Township on Good Friday.
Spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko while confirming the tragic incident, stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon has ordered immediate crackdown and arrest of the fleeing gunmen who shot policeman dead.
In furtherance of the CP Okon’s directive, the Command has deployed tactical teams and other intelligence units with a view to arresting the perpetrators of the crime and bringing them to justice.
At the time of filing this report, normalcy had returned to the area as residents and passers-by were going about their normal businesses without molestation or harassment.
