Presidency 2023: Over 10 aspirants jostle for PDP ticket at National Convention
The Peoples Democratic Party holds its national convention in Abuja to elect the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections. Over 10 aspirants are jostling for the PDP presidential ticket at the National Convention on Saturday, May 28 in Abuja.
The presidential aspirants include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Sam Ahabunwa, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, former President of the Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim, former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, among others.
Two presidential aspirants had earlier withdrawn from the race. They include Peter Obi, who has joined the Labour Party, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who also withdrew on Friday, hours to the national convention, but pledges his loyalty to the PDP.
