President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia dies at 92
President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia has been declared dead. President Caid Essebsi died on Thursday at the age of 92 years.
National Daily learned that Beji Caid Essebsi was the oldest sitting president in the world. He was admitted to hospital on Wednesday but officials did not say why he was receiving treatment and alter died on Thursday.
Essebsi won Tunisia’s first free elections in 2014 following Arab uprisings across the region. He has been in office since then.
