Spread The News

Even though flushing the toilet after peeing is in a way mandatory, there are a lot of people who exaggerate and do this all the time. So, if you’re also a person who constantly flushes the toilet, you should know that this habit is not good because it makes your water bill bigger.

When you flush the toilet unnecessarily, you spread germs from the toilet bowl through the entire bathroom. Therefore, you should always lower the lid and clean the bathroom on a regular basis.

It’s important to mention that you should avoid keeping your toothbrush near the toilet bowl since germs and bacteria can easily transfer to the brush which you put in the mouth daily. A good solution would be to keep the toothbrush in a toothbrush holder.

Reason #1: It Spreads Way Less Germs

If you’re someone who would never dream of leaving your pee in the toilet, your number one reason is probably hygiene. It’s gross and unsanitary to skip a flush, right?

Well, hold on to your hats, because we’re about to blow your mind: You spread more germs when you flush. Studies call it “toilet plume,” and it’s what happens when you flush and send up a spray of yuck into the air around you. Flushing as infrequently as possible (and keeping the lid down when you do) can seriously cut back on how many germs are floating around your bathroom.

Reason #2: It Saves Nine Gallons Of Water

Every time you flush the toilet, you’re using a heck of a lot of water to pull the waste away. If you have a super-spiffy, efficient toilet, you’re probably only using about 1.5 gallons a flus — but older toilets use an average of three to five gallons of water, in some cases even using as much as seven gallons. If you flush every single time you pee (six to 10 times a day), you’re wasting nine gallons of water at best every day.
