Reps strikes out proposed N5bn presidential yacht from budget, channels same to students’ loan
The House of Representatives has removed the proposed N5 billion presidential yacht by President Bola Tinubu from the approved 2023 supplementary budget.
The chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi, briefly after the approval of the budget on Thursday announced this to newsmen.
The lawmakers had earlier passed N2.17 trillion as supplementary budget.
Mr Bichi, while speaking to journalists, said the committee removed the item and moved the money to the student loan section to make it N10 billion.
