Rita Dominic debunks reports of birthing twins
By Orukpe Rebecca.
Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has once again dismissed rumours of having twins with her husband Fidelis Anosike.
The 46-year-old veteran actress took to twitter to call out blogs that spread fake news, noting that similar fake narratives have been recycled every year.
She urged people to stop lying to the public and advised her followers to verify news to avoid falling prey to fake news. The rumour first circulated on social media on September 3, claiming that Rita and Fidelis had welcomed a set of twins. However, she deleted the post as fake news.

Rita’s Instagram page did not address the rumour, with her latest posts dedicated to a memorial. Her husband also did not make any comment regarding the rumour on his profile. Rita has debunked similar rumours before; in September 2022, she dismissed news claiming she had twins via surrogate.
Rita and Fidelis have been together since Boxing Day in 2020 when they made their relationship public. In April 2022, they got engaged and got married shortly afterwards in England.
Rita’s stance on fake news echoes that of many other public figures who have been victims of fake news. Fake news not only tarnishes their reputation but also causes confusion and distress amongst their fans.
Public figures like Rita have a responsibility to correct false reports and call out blogs that spread fake news. It is also up to social media users to verify news they come across and avoid spreading false information to avoid causing harm.
