Sales rep docked for allegedly stealing employer’s beer worth N4.6m
A 23-year-old sales representative, Qudir Afolabi, on Friday appeared in a Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, Lagos, for allegedly stealing cartons of beer worth N4.6million from his employer.
The police charged Afolabi with conspiracy and theft.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution counsel, ASP Bisi Ogunleye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence with some other, at large on Jan. 13 at Abule-Egba area of Lagos.
Ogunleye said that the defendant stole the cartons of beer belonging to Fafem Haulage Nigeria Ltd.
He also said that the defendant also stole six truck tyres worth N750,000.
Ogunleye said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 287 (7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N1million with two sureties in like sum.
Kubeinje ordered that the sureties should be gainfully employed with evidence of two years tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case untill April 14 for mention.
