Sanwo-Olu accompanies Tinubu to visit site of Ikoyi collapsed building
Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, on Saturday, accompanied the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on a visitation to the site of the collapsed building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, who was in Lagos on a solidarity visit to the former Lagos State Governor on his return from London, the United Kingdom (UK), a fortnight ago after recuperation from knee surgery, also accompanied the APC national leader on the inspection visit to the collapsed building in Ikoyi.
Tinubu, extending condolence to families of victims that died in the collapsed building last Monday, expressed support for the investigation panel appointed by Governor Sanwo-Olu. It was his wish that such tragedy will not be witnessed in the stated again.
The Lagos State Government has sustained that search and rescue operations, as Governor Sanwo-Olu has appointed a 6-man panel of inquiry, giving 30 days mandate to unravel the circumstances that led to the collapse of the building.
It was disclosed that 15 survivors have been rescued, while 38 deaths have been recorded.
