Sanwo-Olu cuts BRT, ‘Danfo’ fares in Lagos as palliatives
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State in a broadcast on Monday afternoon, announced the 50% reduction in BRT fares, including 25 per cent reduction in the fares of commercial buses, known as “Danfo” in the state.
The latter, he said, would be announced by operators in that sector.
The reduction takes effect from Wednesday.
The subsidy Palliatives as announced by the governor include:
– 50% reduction on Lagos Buses from Wednesday
– 25% reduction in Yellow buses fees which will be announced officially by their body
– More buses into the Staff Bus for Civil Servants
– Distribution of Raw food items to poor and vulnerable families
