In the lead-up to the emergency meeting the PDP governors hold August  26, after three days of party meltdown, a lot of things have gone down.

The Yemi Akinwomi led faction of the broken party has ruled out the call for a National Executive Council meeting the Sen. Suleiman Nazif faction called for Friday. Akinwomi also held a Natioal Working Committee meeting on August 25.

And the BoT is meeting today, too.

In the growing confusion, according to a report by the Daily Trust, the Walid Jubril-led trustee has shunted responsibility to the PDP Governors Forum led by Sokoto Gov. Aminu Tambuwal.

The governor and his colleagues earlier intervened when the pressure Gov Nyesom Wike first mounted piled on the party’s national chairman Uche Secondus to get off the chair.

It was reported the forum, and the party elders in attendance, appealed, rebuked, and warned Scondus, Wike, and others as necessary.

It was also resolved that the chairman should stay out his tenure which ends December, though later brought closer to October.

Days later, a Rivers high court later suspended Secondus, and Wike’s media office officially spread it across media houses the night of August 23.

The suspended chairman later reacted, saying he and the PDP were not afraid of court—because the party is bigger than any individual or groups, including the “desperadoes”.

But up till now, neither the BoT nor the governors have confronted their colleague behind the putsch.
