Senate summons Godswill Akpabio, NDDC sole administrator, Effiong, to respond to corruption allegations
The Senate of the Nigerian National Assembly on Wednesday summoned the Minister of Niger Delta affairs, Godswill Akpabio, and the Sole Administrator of NDDC, Effiong Akwa, to appear before it on April 12, 2022, to answer to allegations of misappropriation and nonpayment of contractors. The senate did not give any details of the corruption allegations but warned that the minister and the NDDC sole administrator may be issued warrant of arrest if they fail to appear before it on the scheduled date.
Meanwhile, it cannot be confirmed if the senate has transmitted formal invitation to the minister and the NDDC sole administer beyond mere resolution in the chambers.
