Shehu Sani protests ban on Adoration Ministry by Catholic after Mbaka insulted Obi

Senator Shehu Sani, a former representative of Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, has expressed disagreement with the ban on Adoration Ministry, Enugu, coordinated by Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga, after Mbaka insulted the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in the 2023 general elections, calling him a stingy man.

had imposed a ban on Mbaka’s to the decision asking Catholic faithful to stay away from the Adoration Ministry led by Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.

The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga, had in a letter to “All the Clergy, Religious and Lay Faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu” ordered that they should all stay away from having anything to do with the Adoration Ministry.

Shehu Sani in a tweet, protested: “Asking Catholics not to attend the Church of Father Mbaka because of his political views is the same as removing Sheikh Khalid as Imam of Apo Juma’at mosque because of his views. “We are different only when we tolerate views other than ours.”

Mbaka had incurred public wrath when he said during a crusade at the Adoration Ground that Peter Obi is a stingy man because he does not donate money to the church, saying that such a man cannot be president of Nigeria.

Sani argued that the action against the freedom of expression of Mbaka.
