Shehu Sani reacts as Lafarge Cement plead guilty to funding terrorist group
Shehu Sani, the former senator who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the Eighth National Assembly has said it is something of shock to learn that Lafarge was part of those funding terrorist groups.
His reaction is coming after news carried it that the cement company has admitted to a United States court that it paid Islamic State and another terror group, al Nusra Front an equivalent amount of $5.92m to protect its staff.
Taken to his social media page to condemn the act, Shehu said such practices (of secretly giving money to terrorist for one reason or the other) was one of the reasons why the dreaded group continue to thrive
His post reads, “It’s shocking to hear that the French Cement Company Lafarge has been involved in funding Terrorist groups of which it has admitted in the US. One reason terrorism continues to thrive”
