Shielded by Magu, Kwakwanso lands in Bawa’s EFCC trouble; Ekweremadu, Amosun, others next
Former Sen. Rabiu Kwakwanso exhausted his protection from the claw of the EFCC the commission former boss Ibrahim Magu fell out of favor. Now the former governor and PDP presidential aspirant is back in the grip of the anti-graft agency under Abdulrasheed Bawa.
His sin of old—collecting N70m from each of the 44 LGAs in Kano towards his 2015 contest for the APC primary ticket—has been revisited.
In the renewed probe, the EFCC has sealed a property belonging to him in Kano.
That is the beginning.
Bawa has promised he will spare no sacred cow in his tenure at the EFCC.
Kwakwanso is not the only one Magu allegedly shielded while he headed the agency.
Others are former Dep Sen President Ike Ekweremadu, Senators Stella Oduah, Ibikunle Amosun, and Ahmadu Fintri.
The undue protection became part of the reason AGF/Justice Abubakar Malami petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari for the investigation of Magu.
