Sokoto government donates Hajj seat ,house Super Eagles players
The sokoto state Government has donated a hajj seat and a four bedroom house complex t the super eagles player of the state origin Abdullahl shehu,National Daily learnt.
The donation was announced by Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal while receiving the super eagles player who participated in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia who paid him a courtesy visit at Government House sokoto.
Tambuwal therefore directed the state commissioner for lands and housing to identify a suitable land to be allocated to Abdullahi shehu for the construction of sports complex to be named after Abdullahi shehu.
The Governor appealed to the youths to develop their skills and excell like Abdullahi Shehu reminding them that sports is for business and health development.
He therefore challenged them to involve in sports rather than thuggery so as to earn a living and respect.
Tambuwal explained that sokoto state is proud of him and assured him of Government’s continuous support and encouragement.
Earlier the Super eagles player Abdullahi shehu thanked the Governor for his contributions to sports development in the state and assured of total support of youths to his Administration .
Abdullahi shehu while commending the Governor for his efforts at developing the education sector in the state, announced his determination to execute a Legacy project (sports complex) in collaboration with philanthropists in sokoto.
The Super eagles player also informed the Governor of their plan to organize a charity football involving Super eagles players in sokoto and called for Government support and assistance.
He also Lauded the state Government efforts of tackling the menace of drugs abuse among youths in the state.
The Governor was presented with a Jersey by the Super eagles player.
