Soldier stabs man to death in Abia

Saeed Sabo, a Soldier of the 82 division of Nigerian Army, Enugu, is in police custody for stabbing Offor Uchenna ,34 to death in Umuahia, Abia State .

Offor, a native of Olokoro in Umuahia South, Abia State, stabbed on the right side of his chest, below his breast, by the soldier attached to a Chinese construction company in Umuahia, Abia State.

A wrangle happened at about 10am between the duo around Umuahia railway station following the soldier’s inability to pay for goods he previously bought before buying a new one.

“The soldier slapped the man who then grabbed the soldier by the uniform, stabbing the man (Offor) with his bayonet”, an eyewitness said.

However, the man was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia for treatment where he was proclaimed dead.

The remains have been deposited at the mortuary and the suspect has been handed over to the Police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
