Speaker defects from APC to PDP
The Speaker of Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Muhammad Achida, on Thursday decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Speaker was joined on the defection train by another member of the House of Assembly representing Wammako 2 Constituency, Murtala Bello Maigona, in decamping from the APC to the PDP.
The defections occurred during the House’s plenary on Thursday.
The defections had altered the partisan representation of the state assembly.
