Taliban bombs US soldiers, Afghan citizens at Kabul airport?

As evacuation continues in Kabul—to the chagrin of the Taliban—some frantic action took place August 27, to stop the evacuation of Afghans.

There were multiple explosions at Kabul’s airport  that killed scores of US service members and Afghans, according to CNN .

The Taliban didn’t take responsibility for this.

Fox News put the number of US soldiers killed at 12.

The blasts came as the US and other countries were rushing to evacuate people ahead of President Joe Biden’s August 31 withdrawal deadline.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed on the situation in Afghanistan by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin by phone today, her spokesperson Drew Hammill told CNN.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has also been briefed by the defense secretary on the situation, according to a statement from his office.

“I strongly condemn this act of terrorism and it must be clear to the world that the terrorists who perpetrated this will be sought and brought to justice,” Schumer said in the statement.
