Teenage armed robbery phenomena, mothers, herbalist busted in Ondo by Amotekun
The Ondo command of the State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, have arrested Anini, Oyenusi, and Osunbor –three notorious teenage armed robbers fortified by their mothers and herbalists.
In their current life, Timilehin Femi, 13, is the incarnate of the yesteryears’ armed robber Anini; Sunday Ojo, 16, carries on the Yoruba armed robbery menace Oyenusi; and Matti Lowe, 16, carries the spirit of Anini’s partner Osubor.
The kids said neighbours gave them the names, though.
Perhaps the three criminal phenomena deserves those names.
During their parade at the corps headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure, the three confessed to have carried out at least 40 robberies.
Femi ‘Anini’ said he had his baptism of fire at 12, and that his mother, Iyabo Femi, gave him charms to keep him safe from death and arrest.
“I used to keep my gun inside the ceiling and sometimes I used to give it to our herbalist to keep. After robbery operations, we used to hand over the stolen goods to the herbalist who will in turn sell it. But we don’t hand over any cash to him. I have participated in about 46 operations,” he said.
On his part, Ojo, nicknamed ‘Oyenusi’ said he had lost counts of the robbery operations he had been involved in.
Ojo’s mother, their herbalist Kehinde Ayodele, as well as the mother of the herbalist, have been arrested.
According to the Amotekun Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, Ojo is a second-timer, and Femi is a first-timer.
