Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, others mourn Pastor Odukoya

President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State have commiserated with members of the Fountain of Life Church over the death of the founder and Senior Pastor of the church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who died in the United States of America on Monday.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President noted the late Pastor Odukoya’s contributions to the nation’s development, through his various interventions in the lives of some citizens.

While commiserating with his family, congregation, friends and the Church in the country, President Tinubu called for the sustenance of his legacies.

“President Tinubu highlights the importance of the active sustenance of the outstanding legacies of the renowned clergyman by all who knew him, trusting that the Almighty God will continue to comfort the family.

Also, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in a tweet mourned the passing of Pastor Odukoya, describing his death as a reminder of life’s fleeting nature.

He wrote: “It was with utter shock and sadness that I received the news of the passing of Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya, the founding Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church.

“Pastor Odukoya was a dear brother and friend. He was a dedicated man of God whose faith and belief in God never shook nor waned despite experiencing the obstacles of life.

“He was steadfast in worship and diligent in service. He was a great preacher and teacher, whose life and ministry has continued to impact the lives of people within the Christian body and outside.

“Pastor Odukoya’s demise is indeed a heart wrenching reminder that this life is indeed fleeting. My sincere condolences to his dear children, Tolu Ijogun, Jimmy Odukoya, Tobi Enuha, Jomiloju and Timilehin Odukoya and the entire Odukoya family.

“I also commiserate with Pastor Odukoya’s friends, associates, and the congregation of The Fountain of Life Church, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the entire Christian body.

“May his soul find rest with God, and may the good Lord comfort his friends, family, and all members of his church. Amen.”
