Woman nabbed for allegedly using 10-year-old girl as drug courier
Operatives of the Lagos Police Command have arrested a woman, Taiye Abass, for allegedly using her 10-year-old niece as a drug courier.
The suspect was arrested by policemen attached to Pen Cinema Division, Agege, after the minor was seen roaming the streets and taken to the station.
Parading the suspect yesterday, spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said when the girl was brought, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) directed that she should have a bath while they looked for her parents.
He said in the process, the police discovered some substances suspected to be Colorado planted in the girl’s panties, which her guardian allegedly put to move the drugs to her shop for sale.

“The discovery prompted further questions, which revealed that it has been going on for a long time. So, we had to extend our investigation to her house and we were able to bring her guardian (suspect) to the police station.
“She did not deny it. She admitted that this had been her way to courier her drug from her house to the shop where she sells them to beat police checks.
“That is why we are exposing her to Nigerians to know the methods used by drug barons to courier drugs within the metropolis,” he said.
Hundeyin said the minor would be handed over to her family from Ilorin, while the suspect would have her day in court.
