Tinubu uses attack On Atiku to boost own campaign – APC
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has admitted that the party’;s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tunubu, is using attacks on the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to boost his own campaign.
A member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Ayo Oyalowo, on Channels Television said that Tinubu’s political attacks on Atiku were simply to “spice up” the 2023 campaign, suggestive that Tinubu is empty of substantive policies to promise Nigerians and market himself for the 2023 elections.
Tinubu, in one of those attention seeking utterance, last Friday, said that Atiku had contested for the president many times and is tired, adding that he should sit down from the presidential race in 2023.
But Charles Aniagwu, a spokesperson for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, , said that President Muhammadu Buhari also contested for president four times before he won in 2015.
However, Oyalowo argued: “Even Charles knows that he is just making a mountain out of a molehill. Normally, in political contests, there are necessary times you throw jibes.
“We have seen about two, three times the two men have met at the airport on different trips and we’ve seen how convivial they were. So, the jibes are just necessary to spice up the contest.
“It is not the content; the content here is, what are we going to do that we believe Atiku cannot do? That is the issue here.”
Apparently, the APC member is insisting that Tinubu is merely using Atiku to improve personal profile in the presidential race.
