Tragedy as NSCDC officer kills DSS operative during Buratai visit
A NSCDC operative Sunday Dade shot dead a DSS officer Seyi Adebowale at Kuta, Ayedire LGA, Osun on Saturday after the commissioning of a bridge the Nigeria Army built for the community.
COAS Tukur Buratai and Osun Gov Adegboyega Oyetola were said were said to have graced the occasion which the NSCDC officer considered successful, and out of excitement, he shot sporadically in the palace of the community’s traditional ruler.
One of the bullets was said to have hit Adebowale.
Adebowale was rushed to the General Hospital, Iwo, before he was referred Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo where he was operated twice before he eventually died.
“It was an operational error and it is very unfortunate,” said the spokesperson of NSCDC, Osun Command, Mr Adigun Daniel.
“The official involved is going through a trial.”
