Tragedy for Chelsea ex-midfield maestro as son is killed
Chelsea former midfield maestro Michael Ballack is in grieve following the death of his 18-year-old son, Emilio.
National Daily gathered from the report by Portuguese TV channel TVI24 that the teenager was involved in an accident in the early hours of Thursday.
It was learnt that firefighters were called to the incident to rescue the teenager but sadly, they were unable to.
The tragedy was said to have occurred in Troia, south of Lisbon
TV124 revealed that the 18-year-old was involved in the accident in the early hours of Thursday morning, where firefighters tried to rescue Emilio near the Villas do Mar estate.
The former Blues midfielder who retired from professional football nine years ago was prominent amongst Chelsea fans and English audiences during his four-year spell with Chelsea between 2006 and 2010.
The former Germany captain joined the Stamford Bridge club on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, when he was deemed one of the best players in Europe in his position.
