TRANSFER: Chelsea out, Liverpool in
The transfer of the 19-year-old midfielder, Romeo Lavia from Southampton has recently attracted interests from Premier League giants Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool with divided opinions.
With Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp keen to further revamp his midfield this summer after completing a £35m deal for Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton last month and a £60 million deal for Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig over the weekend, National Daily can confirm that the Reds are interested in bringing Lavia to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on adding Lavia to his midfield options
National Daily gathered from the report by talkSPORT that Liverpool are preparing their first offer for the 19-year-old, while Southampton are holding out for a £50 million transfer fee.
The report also claims that Chelsea’s co-director of recruitment Joe Shields had recommended Lavia to Mauricio Pochettino but the club have alternative midfield targets.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Arsenal have also previously expressed an interest in signing Lavia this summer but north Londoners have since made Declan Rice their top priority and are closing in on a £105m deal for the English man.
Lavia joined Southampton in a £14m deal from Manchester City last year and delivered several impressive performances in his first season in the Premier League.
Though City are understood to have included a buyback option in their agreement with Southampton, but it will not be activated until next summer, National Daily learnt.
‘I am really impressed with what Romeo has done and is doing,’ Pep Guardiola said of Lavia in April.
‘We had, and we have, an incredible opinion about him. We thought to keep him, but maybe he would not [get] enough minutes like he has in Southampton.’
