Trump presses for election night results, stirs tension with fraud claims
In a last-minute rally at Grand Rapids, Michigan, former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump demanded immediate election results, sparking fresh controversy over his stance on vote counting.
“We want the answer tonight,” declared the 78-year-old, addressing his supporters in the key swing state.
His call for election night results comes despite the widespread anticipation that vote tallying will extend beyond election night, especially due to the high volume of postal ballots, which often delay final outcomes in closely contested states.

Throughout the final stretch of his campaign, Trump has made repeated claims about potential electoral fraud, although these assertions lack concrete evidence and have intensified concerns among election observers.
His opponent, Democrat Kamala Harris, has also been focusing on swing states, as polls suggest a closely contested race.
The scenario bears similarities to the 2020 presidential election, when Trump controversially declared victory on election night and demanded an end to vote counting as he held a temporary lead over Joe Biden.
Legal disputes and recounts followed, with Biden ultimately winning the election after all ballots were counted. This year, analysts predict that a clear winner may not emerge for days, especially as certain battleground states process mail-in votes.
Experts warn that Trump’s rhetoric could sow distrust in the election results, particularly if delays ensue in close states. Many election officials and watchdogs have emphasized that a final, verified result may require more time to ensure accuracy.
