Why Matawalle, Uzodinma jostle to offer Hajia Shinkafi commissioner appointments
Rabi Shinkafi has resigned from her position as commissioner for Women and Children Affairs in Zamfara state, to take up an appointment as a commissioner in Imo state.
Shinkafi stated that all speculations on social media about her resignation are completely false, handiwork of mischief makers.
According to her, both Governors Hope Uzodinma of Imo and Matawalle (of Zamfara) discussed her resignation.
“I am immensely grateful to Gov. Bello Matawalle and his Wife, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle, for their kindness to me and for giving me the opportunity to serve Zamfara in different capacities,” she said in a press statement.
“I have a perfect and cordial relationship with the governor and his wife. I consider them as my family and they were in the picture of my going to Imo.”
Shinkafi, however, failed to disclose the tribal dimension of her appointments.
She’s a northerner by marriage, according to sources who revealed she married a senior civil servant identified as Shinkafi, named for his town.
But she hails from Imo—from a recognised traditional ruling family.
