Woman arrested over murder of 36-year-old man in Uyo residence
Police in Akwa Ibom State have arrested a woman identified as Lorretta Anoh in connection with the alleged murder of 36-year-old Chikoka Emeka Henry at his residence in Osongama Estate, Uyo.
According to the police, Anoh was the last person seen entering the deceased’s apartment on Tuesday before Henry was found dead.
The circumstances surrounding the death have prompted a police investigation, with preliminary findings indicating that the victim sustained a deep cut to his head.
Following Anoh’s arrest, police officers conducted a search which led to the recovery of N2,943,250 in cash. The suspect allegedly confessed that the money was taken from the deceased.
The police also said Anoh had allegedly begun making arrangements to transfer ownership of the deceased’s Mercedes-Benz 4Matic vehicle to herself.
The black Mercedes-Benz, with registration number EKY 694 GP, was subsequently removed from the car park at Henry’s residence and recovered by the authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Amengheme Andrew, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ikot Akpan Abia, for a discreet and comprehensive investigation.
The police said detectives would investigate the circumstances surrounding Henry’s death, the recovered cash, the vehicle and the suspect’s alleged activities following the incident.
The commissioner also urged members of the public to exercise caution in choosing the people they associate with, stressing the importance of being vigilant about personal relationships and those granted access to their homes and private affairs.
The police said further developments would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
