Yahoo Boy, 20, partner dismember 40-yr-old man in Ogun for ‘Arab Money’ ritual
Two suspected internet fraudsters who kidnapped a 40-year-old man and killed him for a money-making ritual, have confessed to the police.
The suspects, Friday Abinya Odeh, 21, and Poso Idowu ,20, were arrested after a report at the Owode Egba Police Division on June 9, 2022, by the relations of the victim who claied he left his home at Kobape on June 8, but never returned.
The Ogun police command spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects told the police that the victim Abdullahi Azeez was dismembered after they took his life.
According to Abimbola, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, them directed the anti-kidnapping unit of the State CIID to unravel the mystery.
Led by SP Taiwo Opadiran, the team reportedly embarked on a technical investigation, and the hideout of Friday Abinya Odeh was discovered on September 22.
Odeh’s victim’s SIM card was recovered at the hideout, and his partner in crime, Poso Idowu, was also arrested later.
“On interrogation, the suspects confessed that they kidnapped the victim on the 8th of June 2022 at the Kobape area, at about 7:30 pm, from where they forcefully took him to the bush, killed him and dismembered his body,” said the spokesman.
“They confessed further that it was one herbalist simply identified as Arab Money who they claimed to have contacted on Facebook that prescribed the ritual for them.”
The police have been unable to recover the victim’s remains, but the criminals will be charge to court on completion of investigation.
