Yakassai reveals Aso Rock cabal game plan as many southern aspirants jostle for APC presidential ticket
Northern elder Tanko Yakassai has revealed why a multitude of politicians from the south are scrambling for the APC presidential primary ticket.
Yakassai claimed the Aso Rock cabal is behind it.
“The cabals are doing it to break the ranks of the southern part of the country that are clamouring for a power shift,” he said in a statement on Monday.
“We know it that all these presidential aspirants of the APC from the south are being encouraged by some cabals in the Presidency for the purpose of breaking the clamour for a southern presidential candidate from the APC.”
No fewer than 3 aspirants have declared interest in the party ticket.
More than a dozen are from the south—including six from the southwest.
