Money and the come-hither charm of white bimbos have got three honourable hunks fighting for redemption. They need it because they serve in the hallowed chamber

Sex for money has been all the rage in America’s human trafficking and narc worlds. Just as it is a roaring trade in Nigeria. But the testosterone-fuelled kicks of bedding white prossies in God’s own country could have been too overwhelming for Honorables Mark Gbilla, Mohammed Gololo, and Samuel Ikon. That is if the U.S. Amb. James Entwistle pushing the scandal is not just being mischievous.

The three reps are battling allegations of soliciting sex in the Renaissance Hotel where they lodged during a leadership workshop they attended in Cleveland in April. The victims have petitioned the city council. And Uncle Sam appears pretty roiled by the dirty lawmakers.

Nigerians may have to forgive their reps. Cleveland actually had something more tantalising than Stephen Covey and John Maxwell leadership claptraps to offer the Nigerian lawmakers. As it is now, the city, especially its East and West sides, and those linked to their interstate roads, are a hotbed for flesh hawking.

According to Cleveland.com, the hookers are so daring they get laid not only in their regular fleabags, but also right in driveways, treelawns, and homeowners’ porches at night. And the police, petitioned by the communities, had been tough on them. Roughly 400 hustlers are busted in sting operations every year—many inside lush rooms in Ohio’s upmarket hotels and lodges.

The state lawmakers are no softer either on the sex traders.  In Ohio’s Rev. Code 2907.1, 2907.25. and Code 2907.241.,  it’s become a crime to flag down cabbies, beckon at passers-by, or ask somebody for sex—like Gololo allegedly did by grabbing a handful of his hotel maid’s back, and begging for a quickie. It’s equally a crime to make somebody a pimp—like Ikon and Gbilla were said to have done the car park attendants who eventually told on them.

They have all denied it—forcibly. “These are totally false, unfounded and baseless allegations against me,” said Gololo in a June 13 letter to Entwistle, threatening to sue the U.S and Cleveland.  “I never grabbed any housekeeper or solicited sex.” Gbillah suspected it is a calculated attempt to rubbish the National Assembly. “Is this how they would have investigated their congressmen?

Ok. America might have been more thorough investigating their honourables. But the freest nation on the planet has cut its women of easy virtues some slack, especially in Cleveland. Recently, the city authorities did a double take on its hardline prostitution policy. And the result has been soothing. “All prostitution (sex for money) related vice enforcement shall cease immediately,” a memo from the police department stated. “Advise your detectives under no circumstances shall they have a suspected prostitute get into a vehicle with them or have any physical contact with…Police.” It’s a policy change that seeks to see the call girls as victims—rather than perps.

So Ohio’s sluts and their johns are having an indefinitely long rutting season now. Nothing could have been more tempting for the honourables from the world’s most remunerated federal lawmakers. They’ve got all the money to buy enough thrills to sate their lust. And the price is just chicken feed. The girls, Cleveland.com says, collect between $50 and $250 for a bout of groupie.

And what more? Even if the three had been caught and arrested, like Entwistle said in his petition to the House of Reps last week, they could have been able to pay the fine without a blink. Prostitution, loitering, and solicitation are punishable by a fine of up to $5,000.

Trouble is: they could have been caged for 60 days, too. But now the U.S has banned them from entering the country again. Resigning is no option, definitely. However, Speaker Yakubu Dogara might ask them to keep down for a while.
