2023: Oyo Councilors’ forum endorses Makinde’s re-election bid
The Councilors’ Forum in Oyo State on Thursday endorsed the re-election bid of Gov. Seyi Makinde.
In a communique at the end of its general meeting in Ibadan, signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Muili Arowodana and Okunade Idowu respectively, the forum said that the councilors in the 351 electoral wards of the state, have expressed their unalloyed support for the governor.
The councilors who passed a vote of confidence on the governor for what they called his exceptional leadership attributes and disposition to good governance, resolved to work assiduously for his re-election in 2023.
The group further denounced insinuations that the governor neglected the forum and its members, clarifying that Makinde approved an improved welfare package for its members on April 11.
“The Forum apologised to the governor for any embarrassment a recent voice-note which painted a wrong picture of the situation in the councils might have caused his person and the government.
“The councilors pledged to continuously support Makinde’s administration, and also will continue to remain the voices of the people,” the communique read.
