4 Organs to check in a newborn baby immediately after birth
Apart from the medical tests and screenings that a newborn baby will undergo after birth, there are a few areas to consider in your new baby in order to avoid complications and deformities. In this article, I’ll be sharing five key things to note about your newborn just after birth.
1. The Eyes:You should test a newborn’s vision by placing objects or toys near the eyes and observing how the eyes and head move from side to side.
2. The Tongue:
To avoid tongue tie, you should examine your baby’s tongue immediately after birth. Tongue tie is a chronic condition among newborn babies that, if not treated, can cause serious problems with breastfeeding and speaking.
3. The Fingers:
It’s always a good idea to check the fingers as soon as a baby is born. If you realize the newborn has six fingers, call the doctors instantly for medical attention.
4. The Navel:Immediately after childbirth, the newborn’s navel is clamped and cut. However, it is advisable to check the navel cutting. If you observe bleeding, pus, swelling or any other disorders, consult the doctor right away.
