CAF sanctions NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, removes him as 1st vice president
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday sanctioned the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick; removing him as first Vice President of CAF.
National Daily learned that the sanction was decided at CAF’s exco committee meeting which took place after the Thursday’s congress of the Federation.
The report of the sanction was made by the BBC which did not give details of the reason for the dethronement of the NFF President from the CAF executive.
The decision was coming less than 24 hours Nigeria won the bronze medal at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt and Pinnick was watched on live telecast snubbing the coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, who walked unto him to celebrate the victory.
National Daily learned that Constant Omari is now CAF’s first vice president, while Morocco’s Fouzi Lekjaa is the second vice and South Africa’s Danny Jordaan the third vice president of CAF.
It was indicated that CAF executive has been encountering fraud allegations in recent time, while the CAF President, Ahmad Ahmad, was recently arrested and detained for hours in France.
Pinnick is also facing court case over fraud allegation in Nigeria.
