Presidency 2023: Akpabio lobbies APC delegates in Katsina with late President Yar’Adua’s name
The former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at a meeting with APC national delegates in Katsina State, solicited for their support in the name of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who was president on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Akpabio, former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, told APC delegates and stakeholders that he shares similar vision held by late former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for the development the country.
The former minister promised to consolidate on the successes of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He promised that the insecurity crisis in the country will be a thing of the past when he becomes president. Akpabio revealed that he will adopt the security method developed by late President Yar’adua, in resolving the Niger Delta crisis in handling the prevailing insecurity crisis in Nigeria.
Akpabio promised to continue from where President Buhari stopped, by taking stock of the achievements and building on the areas of weakness.
The presidential aspirant from the south-south further assured that he will unite the country, the same way he did in Akwa Ibom when he was Governor. Akpabio recalled that he declared free education, and paid the examination fees of many indigenes and non-indigenes resident in the state.
Governor Aminu Masari acknowledged Akpabio’s support for late President Yar’Adua in implementing Amnesty Programme for the Niger Delta, adding that it shows his commitment to the Nigerian Project.
