Joe Igbokwe reacts as video of SouthEast indigenes celebrating the unknown gunmen surfaces
As expected, reactions are still pouring in from various parts of the country over the gruesome killings currently taking place in the Southeastern region of the country.
In the wake of the brutal murder of a pregnant woman and her four children by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Anambra, coupled with the abduction and subsequent beheading of a serving lawmaker in the state by unknown gunmen, prominent Nigerians have begun sharing their thoughts and opinions on social media on what has led to the high rate of barbaric killings carried out by these armed assailants in the eastern region.
Taking to his Facebook page a few minutes ago, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, shared a video showing southeast indigenes celebrating the unknown gunmen as they passed by a particular area in the region.
In the footage, residents in the area could be heard clapping and hailing the masked hoodlums who were passing through their neighborhood at the time. Some of the natives were even heard urging the criminals to ‘carry on’ in their criminal activities.
Reacting to the clip, Chief Igbokwe sounded baffled that Igbos are actually celebrating criminals as heroes in the Southeast.
Quite interestingly, this clip is coming on the heels of the recent claim made by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng, that indigenes in the various communities in the state often refuse to give information that could help security agents track down and apprehend these killers.
