Causes of impotence in men and ways to prevent it
Research has shown that Impotence is a very widespread condition and can transpire at any age. However, it is most prevalent among older men. It is a condition where a man cannot get and maintain a hard-on. It is also known as erectile dysfunction and can affect a person’s ability to have satisfactory intercourse.
Different things can cause impotence in men. Some of them include;
Physical causes
. Heart disease
. High cholesterol
. Clogged blood vessels
. Injury to the male organ
. Diabetes
. Obesity
. Metabolic syndrome
. Parkinson’s disease
. Multiple sclerosis
. Smoking and other tobacco use
. Alcoholism
. Other forms of substance abuse

. Prostate cancer treatments or treatments
. Spinal cord injuries
. Peyronie’s disease
Psychological causes
. Stress
. Depression
. Anxiety
Some men may suffer from a combination of physical and psychological issues that can lead to or worsen ED. All men should try and avoid the risk factors that cause it.
Some ways to prevent impotence include;
. Not smoking
. Not abusing alcohol or other substances
. Pelvic floor exercises
. Losing weight if obese
. Taking steps to avoid stress
. Getting treatment for depression, anxiety, or any other mental health issues.
