Buhari orders probe of SGF, CoS, EFCC boss others
President Muhammadu Buhari last night ordered a probe of corruption allegations leveled against some top officials
The Presidency said the President will continue to fight corruption relentlessly.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu, said: “The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to a number of reports in the media, in which various accusations of corruption have been levelled against some top officials in the administration.
“In that regard, President Buhari has instructed the Attorney General of the Federation, Malam Shehu Malami to investigate the involvement of any top government officials accused of any wrong-doing. If any of them is liable he will not escape prosecution.”
Among those to be probed is Pastor Babachir Lawal the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mallam Abba Kyari the Chief of Staff to the President and Mr Ibrahim Magu whose nomination as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was rejected by the Senate based on security report from the Department of State Service.
