By OKOSUN DENNIS
The Lagos state Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday announced the deployment of 6000 officers to provide security in the state during the yuletide period.
National Daily learnt that the 6000 officers will be deployed to strategic locations to watch over critical infrastructure, event centres, places of worship, government houses, and black spots within the state during the period.
The Commandant, Mr Tajudeen Balogun, said that his men would ensure adequate security for everyone in the state.
He pointed out that the command would make the Christmas and New Year celebrations crime-free in Lagos and its environs.
It was also gathered that some of the men who had been on annual vacation were recalled as all forms of leave have been suspended.
To provide robust surveillance, Tajudeen added that intelligence officers of the corps in plain clothes had also been deployed to mount surveillance and gather intelligence information from different parts of the State.
He, however, appealed to members of the public to be law abiding and security conscious urging them to report all suspicious movements or gathering that pose as security threat to the security agencies.
