Lalong tells security chiefs, “killers of my people must be arrested”
Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has directed security agencies in the state to fish killers of people of the state without further delay.
Lalong gave the directive in a statement by Dr Makut Macham, the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the governor on Wednesday in Jos.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that gunmen attacked Maikatako Community in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state and killed 11 persons and injured many others.
Lalong, who condemned the incident, said that the killers must be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
”These killings cannot continue, it has to stop.
”My administration will not allow terrorists and bandits to take foothold in any part of this state.
” I, therefore, direct all security agencies to be firm and hard on any person or groups behind the criminal acts,” Lalong said.
The governor, who decried the spate of killings and mass destruction of crops on farmlands, livestock and other properties in Bokkos and other parts of the state, adding the trend was becoming worrisome and must be checked immediately.
The governor, who sympathised with families who lost their loved ones, |called on members of the community to be calm and law abiding, adding that government would fish our the perpetrators.
