N14B Missing petrol: NNPC board recommends mandatory retirement for Ogbue, others
The board of the NNPC on Tuesday voted unanimously to retire the Managing Director of the NNPC Retail, Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, and three others over the missing N14 billion petrol from NNPC’s depot, National Daily leant.
Ogbue, and three others were indicted by a panel set up to investigate the theft, in a scandal involving Capital Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited owned by businessman, Ifeanyi Ubah.
The panel recommended their immediate sack and prosecution, but the board after their meeting approved the retirement of the indicted officials.
National Daily Newspaper gathered Thursday that Ogbue, her deputy, a deputy manager, supply and distribution, a GM Operations, and three others were affected in an investigation prompted by the Vice President’s office.
Ogbue, will be waving a painful goodbye in her brief, controversial and tumultuous time as head of the NNPC retail.

Last year, anti corruption agents ransacked her residence over alleged fraud in the oil sector. Just when she was getting out of that trouble, she was arrested again over allegations that she acquired some property worth N1.2 billion with the proceeds of corruption.
Weeks before her daughter’s wedding last November, her steward, one Gabel Segbedji, a national of Benin Republic, absconded with cash and jewelry worth
millions of dollars. Unconfirmed reports estimated a whopping $6 million was stolen by Segbedji from Ogbue’s residence.
The pilfering steward also went away with a Toyota Camry sedan belonging to Ogbue.
Ogbue Thursday denied allegations that she owns the over $40 million found in a flat by the EFCC yesterday.
