Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin addresses allegation of gold theft
Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has revisited allegations that she was accused of stealing gold from a seller, a claim that circulated in a video last February.
The actress, who denied the accusation at the time, clarified that the incident involved an unsuccessful transfer of ₦91,000 to a vendor in the Tom Jones area of Idumota, Lagos.
Anjorin likened the situation to that of filmmaker Olajide Kareem, also known as Seun Egbegbe, suggesting that she was set up.

In a recent interview with media personality Timi Agbaje, Anjorin expressed her disbelief at the accusation, stating, “Let’s first establish that we’re talking about ₦91,000 gold when a gram of gold was ₦150,000. A gram of gold is less than a grain of rice, so how can you go into the market to steal something less than a grain of rice?”
Anjorin, who holds a BSc in Transport Planning and Management from Olabisi Onabanjo University, called the accusation “ridiculous” and firmly denied any involvement in theft.
“I’m a certified jewelry seller; I sell gold and diamonds. I am also a certified fabric merchant. How can I stoop so low to go to Eko Idumota to steal a gram of gold? Something less than a grain of rice? That is ridiculous. I am not a thief, I will never be a thief. I am too straightforward and too disciplined to become a thief,” she asserted.
