The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has responded to reports of unrest among some Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) who were denied registration after arriving late to their respective Orientation Camps for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 Orientation Course.

In a statement released by the NYSC, the scheme reiterated its clear policy on mobilization and orientation programs, as outlined in the enabling Act and Call-Up Letters issued to the PCMs.

The statement emphasized that the registration deadline was explicitly stated in the Call-Up Letters.

While the NYSC initially extended the registration deadline due to reports of late arrivals, it has maintained that adherence to the rules and regulations is essential for the smooth operation of the program.

The NYSC has assured those who were unable to meet the registration deadline for this batch that they will be considered for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ mobilization.

While the scheme understands the concerns of the affected PCMs, it has emphasized that its operations are guided by the provisions of the enabling Act and Bye-laws.
